Kernel-Managed Swap Facility (KMSF) Manual
Abstract
This manual describes the installation, configuration, and management of the Kernel-
Managed Swap Facility (KMSF), which manages virtual memory for HP NonStop™
systems. It describes the operation of and command syntax for NSKCOM, the HP
NonStop operating system command interface to KMSF. This manual is primarily
written for those who configure, manage, and monitor kernel-managed swap (KMS)
space.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This manual supports G06.09 and all subsequent G-series RVUs and H06.03 and all
subsequent H-series RVUs until otherwise indicated by its replacement publication.
Document History
New and Changed Information
The default value for the MAXEXTENTS attribute of default swap files for G-series
RVUs increased from 128 to 256, resulting in maximum default swap file sizes of
256 megabytes. Configured swap files are not affected by this change. These
changes affected:
Default Swap Files and KMS Files and New Systems in Section 1, Introduction
were changed to describe the new values for the size and threshold value for
default swap files.
