software release document (softdoc)
software release document (softdoc). A document that describes revision-dependent
information regarding a software or firmware SPR.
Software Revision Notification. A message announcing the availability of time-critical fix
SPRs, Hotstuff messages, and Support Notes and that provides enough information to
help you decide whether to research the SPRs further.
SPR. See software product revision (SPR).
SPR Introduction Document (SID). Summary information for determining whether an SPR
is appropriate for a specific computing environment. An SID includes information about
the release version updates (RVUs) with which the SPR is usable, the assessment of
benefits versus risks, and the installation impact of the SPR.
SPR Summary. A listing of the SPRs distributed during a particular month.
SPRNOTE. A collection of information about an SPR that contains the SPR Introduction
Document (SID), the software release document (softdoc) describing the product
revision, a list of the distribution subvolume (DSV) files, and a detailed list of requisite
SPRs.
successive PVU. Any product version update following the initial PVU within the same
product version.
superseded SPR. An SPR for the same product version as the superseding SPR, whose
features and fixes have been carried forward into a more recent SPR, except for fixes
or features that HP has explicitly and officially withdrawn.
Support Note. A message that contains technical information of a more routine nature than
that published in a Hotstuff message.
SUT. See site update tape (SUT).
TIM. See Total Information Manager (TIM).
TIM collection. A set of documents or manuals identified by a collection name, consisting of
all the document or manual files, an index used by the TIM search function, and one or
more TIM trees.
TIM tree. A hierarchical list of the titles of the documents or manuals in a collection. Titles in
a tree are typically grouped into folders, and folders can be grouped into other folders.
A particular document or manual title can appear in multiple places in a tree, but only
one copy of the document itself is in the collection. Users can define multiple trees for
a single collection.
time-critical fix. A delivery attribute of an SPR that is issued to provide a fix immediately
instead of waiting for inclusion in the next scheduled release version update (RVU).
