Software Release Documents (Softdocs)
Software Release Documents (Softdocs)
Softdocs provide information about a software product revision, supplementing a
product’s manuals between editions. Softdocs can describe:
•
Hardware, firmware, and software dependencies
•
Migration considerations
•
Installation considerations
•
Changed and related manuals
•
New features
•
Problems corrected
•
Known problems remaining
A softdoc is written for an initial product version update (PVU) softdoc, and a softdoc
addendum is written for each successive PVU. For unrestricted SPRs, softdoc
addendums are appended to the initial PVU softdoc and delivered as a single
document.
Softdocs are available through TIM SOFTDOCs Collections and Scout for NonStop
Servers.
See Appendix A, What Is in a Softdoc, for information about the contents of softdoc
files.
Support Notes
Support Notes provide technical information of a more routine nature than that
published in Hotstuff messages. Support Notes are also issued to announce:
•
Special Consideration SPRs for an RVU
•
User Documentation for an RVU
•
First customer shipment of an RVU
•
First customer shipment of an Independent Product Update
Support Notes are announced through ExpressNotice. You might receive a copy of a
Support Note from your service provider if the information is deemed appropriate for
your particular operations environment.
Support Notes are available through TIM Support Collections and Scout for NonStop
Servers.
