Install promptly to avoid critical problems
in specific cases
Consider using this SPR to avoid possible outage
18) backup %5100 halt if inserts performed on entry-sequenced file with
alternate key files and insert into alternate key file fails
20) File Management Error 59 (FEFILEBAD), DP2 "KS^FIND" EMS events, and broken
files or tables if BACKOUT UNDO request executes concurrently with file
management request modified the key-sequenced index structure
or to avoid
19) fails to increment MEASURE statistics if DISCFILE entity is associated with
TMF audit trail file
21) mirrored volume-mode BACKUP copies unused disk space to tape
22) degraded performance on TACL FILEINFO, FUP INFO, etc against SMS physical
volume with many SMS files
INSTALLATION IMPACT coldload
Evaluation procedure:
1. You decide that the possibility of one or more of the defects indicated is serious
enough in your environment to warrant further investigation.
2. Using Scout for NonStop Servers, you look at the T9053AKM SPR and review its
softdoc.
3. You review item 18 under Problems Corrected more closely:
18) [AKM] Corrected a problem which results in backup DP2 CPU
%5100 halts when inserts are performed for an entry-sequenced
file that has one or more alternate key files, and the
attempt to insert into the alternate key file fails. This
problem may result in corrupted data.
Additionally, this change ensures that any records deleted
from an entry-sequenced file or table during transaction abort
do not result in a reduction in the number of records in the
block, even if the deleted record is the last in the block.
This is consistent with the documented design.

4. Although installation of the SPR requires a system load, you decide that the SPR
represents a significant benefit to your system and decide to download it (using
Scout for NonStop Servers) for installation.
