This section also includes an installation impact statement that characterizes the
impact of installing the SPR, including whether any specific or unusual
considerations are involved. This section can indicate:
°
Whether a full SYSGEN is required or whether a partial SYSGEN phase is
possible
°
Whether a subsystem must be stopped and restarted to install the SPR
°
Whether system impact is minimal (no SYSGEN is required, and no subsystem
must be stopped and restarted)
°
What preinstallation steps are required
Steps to be carried out prior to those associated with DSM/SCM are listed. For
some products, it might be necessary to save subsystem configuration files
before they are replaced during the installation. Or it might be that microcode
of a certain version must be downloaded before the DSM/SCM or Install steps
can occur.
°
What to do if you are using DSM/SCM
Because DSM/SCM automatically determines what steps are needed to install
an SPR, only the general process of installing software using DSM/SCM (plus
specific preinstallation and post-installation steps that DSM/SCM does not
perform) are specified in the softdoc.
°
What post-installation steps are required
New Features describes new features or features carried forward that are new
since the last unrestricted SPR, if any. Each item is prefaced by the ID of the SPR
that introduced the feature; for example, [ABA].
If a new feature is associated with a Genesis solution, the solution number is listed
after the item; otherwise, (No SOLN) is listed.
Problems Corrected indicates what problems, if any, have been corrected since
the last unrestricted SPR. Each item is prefaced by the ID of the SPR that
corrected the problem; for example, [AAC].
If a problem is associated with a Genesis solution, the solution number is listed
after the item; otherwise, (No SOLN) is listed.
Known Problems Remaining describes any problems that have not been fixed.
If a problem is associated with a Genesis solution, the solution number is listed
after the item; otherwise, (No SOLN) is listed.
