It is recommended that the first-time reader read through the entire manual and then
refer to it as needed.
Section 1, Release Management Overview, introduces the concept of managing
RVUs and SPRs within the context of TRM2000.
Section 2, Resources for Managing RVUs and SPRs, describes available products,
services, and documentation for evaluating and managing RVUs and SPRs. This
section provides an inventory of resources and describes how to obtain them. It
also lists the media distribution channels for obtaining documentation related to
managing RVUs and SPRs.
Section 3, Evaluating Software Changes, describes how to track and evaluate the
potential impact of new and revised software products.
Section 4, Software Installation Planning, describes how to determine the
availability of RVUs, their content and attributes, and how to ensure that the
features and corrections from your current configuration are preserved when you
upgrade to a new RVU.
Section 5, Managing Changes Between Release Version Updates, contains
procedures on how to track, evaluate, and request individual SPRs.
