obsolete SPR
obsolete SPR. An SPR that is not defective and presents no risk but provides no future
value to potential new users (for example, it might apply to an obsolete product).
obsolete product. A product that is no longer supported, sold, or delivered in any release
version update (RVU).
Outage Prevention Notification (OPN). A type of Hotstuff message that describes a
problem that presents an unusually great risk of causing multiple unrelated application
outages and that provides steps to avoid or prevent them.
planned product maintenance. A delivery attribute of an SPR that is made available with a
release version update (RVU) to ensure that it has been integration-tested with that
RVU.
primary requisite. A requisite that is cited in an SPR softdoc. Usually, the primary requisite
is the first SPR that can be installed to satisfy the requiring SPR’s dependency.
product version (PV). A set of revisions of a product that is a variant of that product and
typically introduces significant change. A product version consists of an initial PVU and
successive PVUs based on it.
product version update (PVU). The delivery method for new product features and defect
repair. A set of PVUs make up the release version update (RVU) delivered on a SUT.

README File. The file provided for each release version update (RVU) containing
information that might not have been available at the time manuals, softdocs, and other
supporting material was produced.
recalled SPR. An SPR that either contains a defect that, under certain conditions, could
cause serious problems, such as a system outage or inaccurate operations results, or
one that prevents normal operation of the system or applications.
release version update (RVU). A collection of compatible revisions of HP NonStop
operating system software products, identified by an RVU ID, and shipped and
supported as a unit. An RVU consists of the object modules, supporting files, and
documentation for the product revisions. An RVU also includes a set of documentation
for the overall RVU.
release version update revision (RVUR). A release version update revision (RVUR) is a
revision of an RVU that introduces an important correction to that RVU by means of an
RVU overlay. Usually, the correction is a defect repair for a single fault with unusually
severe potential consequences such as data-integrity problems, system outages, or
unusable subsystems. When an RVUR is created, HP informs customers by publishing
a Hotstuff message to announce the RVU overlay and the availability of the RVUR.
