requisite SPR
requisite SPR. An SPR that either provides required function or data to enable a specific fix
or feature in a requiring SPR to be fully functional (to use the requisite product). A
requisite SPR is required when using the requiring SPR to maintain compatibility with
another product.
requiring SPR. An SPR that has one or more requisite SPRs.
restricted SPR. An SPR that is made available only for a specific situation, as determined
on a case-by-case basis. Usually, the defect repairs introduced in the SPR are
believed to work correctly in certain environments or circumstances, but HP must
complete additional verification for other environments before making it available for
unrestricted access. In rare situations, a defect repair will work correctly only under
certain conditions, and access is therefore restricted.
RVU. See release version update (RVU).
RVUR. See release version update revision (RVUR).
Scout for NonStop Servers. A Web-based SPR analysis and delivery tool that lets you
retrieve information about software release version update (RVU)s and SPRs. It
includes options for determining the prerequisites for and obtaining SPRs (either
through tape or electronic delivery).
secondary requisite. A requisite that provides the function of a primary requisite but is not
a primary requisite (it supersedes or accumulates the primary requisite).
SID. See SPR Introduction Document (SID).
site update tape (SUT). One or more tapes that contain a target system's site-specific
subvolume and various products. Each product contains a softdoc and a complete set
of files. A SUT is delivered with every new HP NonStop system. Updates can be
requested whenever a new release of the system software is available. A SUT
contains all standard products relevant to the system type for which it is created plus
all optional products that have been licensed for use on that system, including release
documentation.
softdoc. See software release document (softdoc).
Software Product Maintenance List (SPML) Document. A file that describes the current
maintenance levels of HP NonStop operating system software products, including
functions not carried forward in new release version updates (RVU)s, changes in
support structures for products, and products scheduled for discontinuation or
obsolescence (support termination).
software product revision (SPR). Any incremental update to a software product. An SPR
can include one or more corrections to program code, or it can contain code that adds
new function to a software product.
