Planned product maintenance (PPM)
New features are normally first made available with an RVU before being released
in a stand-alone SPR to ensure that they have been sufficiently integration tested
for the RVU.
Planned product maintenance SPRs usually also include rolled-up time-critical fix
SPRs and defect repair or product enhancements that are not time-critical fixes.
In some cases an SPR that was originally released for time-critical fix delivery will
be distributed as planned product maintenance in the next RVU. In such cases, the
delivery attribute of the SPR changes from time-critical fix to planned product
maintenance.
Planned product maintenance SPRs are always unrestricted.

Time-critical fix (TCF)
Introduces fixes that at least one user required immediately rather than waiting
until the next scheduled RVU. In some cases a fault corrected by a time critical fix
potentially could affect many users, but in most cases it is unlikely to affect more
than a very few.
A time-critical fix SPR can be either unrestricted or restricted.

Unrestricted
Can introduce defect repairs, new features, or both. Unrestricted SPRs are
available for specific RVUs and are available to all customers to select and install
individually. Unrestricted SPRs are generally cumulative: they usually contain all
the fixes and features of a prior SPR. Only unrestricted SPRs participate in RVUs
(that is, are delivered on a SUT).
An unrestricted PPM SPR is tested and delivered in the next RVU if it can be used
with that RVU. An unrestricted TCF SPR is verified to be installable on the
indicated RVUs with which it is usable.
After an unrestricted PPM SPR is delivered in an RVU, it is made available in the
Scout for NonStop servers tool.

Restricted
A restricted SPR is made available only for a specific situation, as determined on a
case-by-case basis. Usually, the defect repairs introduced in the SPR are believed
to work correctly in certain environments or circumstances, but HP must complete
additional verification for other environments before making it available for
