Software Release Management Documentation
The following manuals and documents are available to help you evaluate new software
release version updates and the impact of upgrading from one RVU to another.
Release and Migration Manuals
The manuals in the NTL Release and Migration library provide an overview of each
RVU and describe the installation activities and changes for the RVU.
Interactive Upgrade Guides
The Interactive Upgrade Guide and Interactive Upgrade Guide 2 simplify the planning
of software and hardware upgrades. The Interactive Upgrade Guide covers D-series
through G06.24 information, while the Interactive Upgrade Guide 2 supports G06.16
and later and H-series RVUs.
Select the products and RVUs you use, and the Interactive Upgrade Guide displays:

New products and new features available in a particular RVU
Changes to operating system, applications, hardware, data files, operational
procedures, or configurations that are required to move to a new RVU
Products and features that are no longer available starting at a particular RVU
Fallback information that is tailored to your particular migration path, including the
tasks to perform before upgrading if you want to be able to fall back to your current
RVU
Release Version Update Compendium
The compendium for an RVU provides categorized information about new features,
migration issues, and fallback considerations for that RVU. It describes how upgrading
to the RVU affects installation, configuration, operations, system management,
maintenance, applications, networks, and databases. It also includes references and
sources for detailed upgrade planning.
Software Installation and Upgrade Guide
The Software Installation and Upgrade Guide for a particular RVU gives instructions for
upgrading to the RVU and for recommended or required software configuration
changes.
