Site Update Tape (SUT) Documentation
Site Update Tape (SUT) Documentation
All the product version updates for a release are stored in distribution subvolumes
(DSVs) on a site update tape (SUT). A DSV contains the object files and executables
for a product, in addition to the product softdoc.
The DSV for the RLSEDOC product (T9230), sometimes referred to as the release
subvolume, contains the Content File and README File for the RVU as a whole.
Content File
The Content file lists the SPRs included in the RVU and, in some cases, the SPRs
excluded from an RVU (that is, available SPRs not delivered in the RVU).
The Content File is available:
•
In the NTL Release and Migration Library for the RVU
•
On the site update tape in the RLSEDOC (Y9230) distribution subvolume
Appendix D, How to Use a Content File, describes the Content file in detail.
README File
For each release, a README file contains information that might not have been
available at the time manuals, softdocs, and other release materials were produced.
The README file is available:
•
In the NTL Release and Migration Library for the RVU
•
On the site update tape in the RLSEDOC (Y9230) distribution subvolume
Software Product Maintenance List (SPML) Document
The Software Product Maintenance List (SPML) document describes the current
maintenance levels of NonStop server software products and RVUs, including
functions not carried forward in new RVUs, changes in support structures for products,
products scheduled for discontinuation or obsolescence, supported and unsupported
RVUs, and release update history. This document is available on the Web page:
