SQL/MX REMOVAL OF SUPPORT FOR RAND FUNCTION

SUMMARY:
This hotstuff alerts users of possible data integrity issues when
using the NonStop SQL/MX RAND function as part of a primary key on an
INSERT statement. This hotstuff announces that support for the RAND
function within SQL/MX is being withdrawn.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
This problem exists in SQL/MX Release 1.8 (for users on G06.18 to
G06.22) and in SQL/MX Release 2.0 (G06.23 and G06.24). Because the
RAND function is an extension to the ANSI standard and is not
generally used by customers, support will be removed from both SQL/MX
releases.
Support for the RAND function will be removed from SQL/MX Release 1.8 starting
with the T1050ABH SPR that is planned for release in October.
Support will be removed from SQL/MX Release 2.0 starting with the
T1050ABA SPR that is planned for release in September.
