Software Revision Notifications
Software Revision Notifications
Software Revision Notifications are sent by the ExpressNotice service to announce the
release of an unrestricted time-critical fix SPR and to provide enough information to
help you decide whether to evaluate the SPR further.
A Software Revision Notification contains one or more SPR Introduction Documents
(SIDs). See Evaluating SPR Introduction Documents (SIDs) on page 3-4 for a detailed
explanation of the information provided in an SID.
A typical summary of the SIDs contained in a Software Revision Notification might look
like:

SPR Notes
An SPR Note is a collection of all available information about a software product
revision. It contains the information that appears in the ExpressNotice Software
Revision Notification message (namely, the SPR Introduction Document, or SID), the
SPR softdoc describing the product revision, and a list of the files in the distribution
subvolume (DSV) for the product revision.
SPR Notes can be viewed through NTL Support and Service Library.
For more information on the contents of an SPR Note, see Appendix B, What Is in an
SPR Note.
Note. Starting with G06.28 and H06.05, SIDs are only created and published to Scout for
NonStop Servers for Exception Delivery SPRs, which include Time Critical Fixes (TCFs) and
Early Product Deliveries (EPDs). SIDs for Planned Product Maintenance (PPM) SPRs are no
longer produced for G-series and H-series RVU-based SPRs or for Independent Product
SPRs. See Support Note S06013 for details.
Note. Starting with June 2006, SPR Notes are no longer created. Previously published SPR
Notes remain available in NTL.
