1. possible data corruption if Format 1 file that isn't a SQL table,

OSS file, or SMF file is renamed during REVIVE from 514-byte disk

to 512-byte disk

Evaluation procedure:

1. You decide that the possibility of the defect indicated is serious enough in your

environment to warrant further investigation.

2. Using Scout for NonStop Servers, you look at the T9053APK SPR and review its

softdoc.

3. You review item 1 under Problems Corrected more closely:

SYMPTOMS: Performing a REVIVE from a 514-byte disk to a 512-byte

disk could cause data corruption on the 512-byte disk.

CONDITIONS: A file is renamed while being revived, and file is

Format 1, not a SQL table, OSS file, or SMF file. Note: audit

trail files could be affected if they are Format 1, because TMF

periodically renames these files.

LIKELIHOOD: Somewhat likely

WORKAROUNDS: Do not migrate files from 514-byte to 512-byte

disks if files could be renamed during the REVIVE; do not

migrate files if Format 1 audit trails are configured on the

volume.
