ASSESSMENT considering all changes 6 fixes 1 feature
Install when convenient for fixes or new features that
significantly benefit all systems
Consider using this SPR to avoid possible outage
3) loops if WANMGR's primary CPU goes down
or to avoid
1) abends when TCPIP socket connection cannot be made or if WANMGR
stops & starts
2) drops BOOTP requests on receiving more than one packet at a
time, causing delay in the CLIPs to come up
4) abends after running for a long time
5) LFD does not poll adapters connected through routers
6) no BOOTP received EMS message and no LFD polling for CLIPs with
corrupted POST code
or to obtain features
1) support for a router between the SWANs and S-series
ServerNet/Ethernet connections
INSTALLATION IMPACT interruption due to unconditional requisite
Evaluation procedure:
1. Although you have not experienced any of the listed problems, you are interested
in the support for a router between the SWANs and NonStop S-series
ServerNet/Ethernet connections.
2. Using Scout for NonStop Servers, you look at the T7909AAH SPR and review its
softdoc.
3. Seeing that the SPR has a requisite SPR, T8365AAI, you use Scout to check the
requisite and its softdoc.
4. Because the requisite SPR has its own requisites, you use Scout’s Search/GET
SPRs function to check all requisites for the original SPR (T7909AAH).
5. Scout indicates that to install T7909AAH, you also need SPRs T8365AAI,
T7922AAH, T7925AAG, and T7953AAG.
6. Although installing the SPR and its requisites requires a subsystem interruption,
you decide that the SPRs present minimal risk to your system and decide to install
them. You use Scout to request electronic delivery of the SPRs.
