What post-installation steps are required
Because DSM/SCM automatically determines what steps are needed to install an
SPR, only the general process of installing software using DSM/SCM (plus specific
preinstallation and post-installation steps that DSM/SCM does not perform) are
specified in the softdoc.
Installation Instructions describes the procedures that must be followed to
properly install the SPR.
New Features describes what new features or enhancements have been either
introduced in this SPR or carried forward into this SPR and are new since the last
unrestricted SPR. Each item is prefaced by the PVU ID that introduced the feature;
for example, [ABF] or [G06].
If a new feature is associated with a Genesis solution, the solution number is listed
after the item; otherwise, (No SOLN) is listed.
Problems Corrected indicates what problem corrections, if any, have been made.
Each item is prefaced by the PVU ID that corrected the problem; for example,
[AAM] or [G05].
If a problem is associated with a Genesis solution, the solution number is listed
after the item; otherwise, (No SOLN) is listed.
Known Problems Remaining describes problems that have not been fixed. This
section addresses:
°
The symptoms of the problem
°
If the same symptoms can be caused by another problem, how to determine
which problem it is
°
The operational impact of encountering the problem if it is not obvious
°
The conditions that must be present in your environment to encounter the
problem
°
Actions you can take to reduce or remove the likelihood of encountering the
problem or reduce the operational impact
If a problem is associated with a Genesis solution, the solution number is listed
after the item; otherwise, (No SOLN) is listed.
Note. The installation considerations are valid only with respect to the associated SPR.
You must use judgment when installing multiple SPRs simultaneously (regardless of
whether they are dependent on each other). DSM/SCM determines the order of all
simultaneous changes.
