Excluded SPRs
Included SPRs in This RVU
The SPR entries marked with the letter I in the SPR Included in RVU-ID column have
their complete fixes and features provided in this RVU in some form, although the
SPRs themselves are not present. The fixes and features of these SPRs might be
included in this RVU by being carried forward:
•
Into later SPRs for the same product
•
Into the SPRs of a different product
•
Into the SPRs of a combination of products
Obsolete products and products that were never available on any of the previous
RVUs might appear as “Included SPRs” because another product or combination of
products in this RVU offers equivalent functions. Such products are not in this RVU and
so do not have an asterisk (*) entry in the SPR in RVU-ID column.
Excluded SPRs
Part 2 of the Content file (Example D-2) lists SPRs released previously that have at
least one fix or feature not included in the current RVU. The fixes and features of these
SPRs might be either completely or only partially absent from this RVU.
SPRs for obsolete products are not shown in the Excluded SPRs list. See the Software
Product Maintenance List (SPML) file for a list of obsolete products.
To research an SPR for an obsolete product, check the SPML file to see if another
product replaces the obsolete product. If it does, SPRs for the obsolete product whose
functions are in the replacement product are listed in the Included SPRs section of the
Content file. An SPR for an obsolete product that is not listed under Included SPRs is
not in the new RVU.
Some, but not all, of the fixes and features of an excluded SPR might be offered in this
RVU. If you have installed an SPR on your current system that is listed as an excluded
SPR for the new RVU, follow the instructions given in Section 4, Software Installation
Planning, to determine whether the SPR’s particular fixes and features that you want to
preserve are included on the SUT for the new RVU.
