The last entity-listn can also be an asterisk ( * ), which instructs MEASFT to put data for
all the remaining entities into the last output data file. If only entity-list1 is specified, a
single output data file is created.
BY CPU followed by an asterisk (*) causes MEASFT to create one output data file per processor
number present in the data file.
BY CPU followed by one or more lists of processor numbers causes MEASFT to create one
output data file for each list of processor numbers. The syntax for cpu-listn is:
cpu-num [cpu-num]...
that is, a space-separated list of cpu-num.
The last cpu-listn can also be an asterisk ( * ) which means to put all of the rest of the
processor data into the last output data file. If only cpu-list1 is specified, a single output
data file is created, to contain data for the processor numbers in the list.
In H06.25/J06.14 and later RVUs only, you can also specify whether to split the file based
on a BY TIME split criteria.
BY TIME, FROM time causes MEASFT to create one output data file that contains entities that
existed in the input data file from the time specified. BY TIME, FROM time can optionally
be followed by either a TO time or a FOR duration specification. If TO time is specified,
the TO time defines an end time to the time window. If FOR duration is specified, the FOR
duration defines the duration of the time window.
BY TIME, TO time causes MEASFT to create one output data file that contains entities that
existed in the input data file from the measurement start time up to the time specified.
BY TIME, FOR duration causes MEASFT to create one output data file that contains entities
that existed in the input data file from the measurement start time for the duration indicated.
NOTE: MEASFT supports Measure data file versions from G10 to H06. However, the BY
TIME split criteria is only supported for data file versions H01 to H06 because the necessary
time information needed by the SPLIT BY TIME command did not exist prior to H01.
Only one output file (split file) is supported when the FROM, TO and FOR parameters are used
with the BY TIME split criteria.
The syntax for time is:
[ date , ] time-of-day
where
date
is
dd mmm yyyy
where
dd is a day of the month, a number in the range 1 through 31.
mmm is the first three letters of the month; for example: JAN, MAR, OCT.
yyyy is a 4–digit year.
