PROBLEM:
When I run the INTFACE Utility program, I receive a run-time error...
SOLUTION:
The most common reason for this is that the INTFACE Utility program does not know
where to find the PROCFILE file in the MSMM ISV location or that MSMM is not
started. You have to make sure the MSMM ISV location is included on the command
line and that the MSMM software is running. For example:
The 2nd parameter [$SYSTEM.OUTPUT.TAPELIST] can be any valid fully qualified
filename.
The 3rd parameter [$SYSTEM.TSIMSMMS] is the MSMM ISV location. There has
to be a file called PROCFILE in this subvolume. If there is not a PROCFILE file in
this subvolume, then MSMM is not started or you have an older version of MSMM,
before the INTFACE Utility program was supported.
RUN $SYSTEM.TSIMSMMS.INTFACE/name/ REPORT
$SYSTEM.OUTPUT.TAPELIST $SYSTEM.TSIMSMMS
Troubleshooting Examples for Miscellaneous
Problems
Example 1
PROBLEM:
Does the MSMM software perform some type of internal checking on the system
number of the node onto which the software is running?
SOLUTION:
The MSMM software is shipped with your system number hard coded into the
software. Within the configuration program, there is a place to set up an alternate
system number... [ CONFIG_ALTSYS# ] TO CONFIGURE ALTERNATE SYSTEM
NUMBER. During disaster recovery testing, this alternate system can be used for 15
days. In the event of a true disaster, TSI would provide you with a new version of the
MSMM software to run on your new primary system.
