LOG^MON^INT
LOG^MON^INT
LOG^MON^INT controls monitoring of logged-on workstations.
When a remote workstation logs onto the NBT Resource Manager via the RMPCCOM
LOGON command, NBT verifies that the workstation has not been powered off or
rebooted. This prevents a security problem where another person can power up the
workstation and obtain security privileges of the previously logged-on user.
NBT periodically sends a name query function (specifying the RMPCCOM NetBIOS
name from the logon command) to every logged-on workstation. If a response is
returned, NBT assumes the workstation is still legitimately logged on. If no response is
received, NBT retries the query at five-second intervals. If no response is received after
several retries, NBT assumes that the workstation is powered off, and takes the
following actions:
Logs off the workstation.
Terminates any active NetBIOS sessions [WSPTP, WIN, SMB File Server (G-series)
or MLSRV file server (D-series)].
Deletes any dynamic windows. Terminates any associated processes as controlled by
KILL^PROC.
To display the current setting of this parameter, use the INFO PROCESS command.
n
specifies a single digit 0 through 9. Zero disables the periodic probe. A number 1
through 9 specifies the time interval, in minutes, between probes. The default is 1
minute.
