token map
token map. In Distributed Systems Management (DSM) programmatic interfaces, a structure
that contains decoding information for a DSM extensible structured token. Also, a
variable name used to reference an extensible structured token. The token map includes
a token code
and a description of the token value: its fields, the null values of those
fields, and the versions of the fields. A token map defines a structure that might change
in some later code version (by the addition of new fields at the end), and the information
in the map allows the Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI) to provide compatibility
between different structure versions.
token number. In Distributed Systems Management (DSM)
programmatic interfaces, the
number used by a subsystem to identify each DSM token that it defines. The token type
and the token number together form the token code.
token-ring. A local area network (LAN)
based on a token passing ring topology, or the token
access procedure used on a network with a sequential or ring topology.
Token-Ring ServerNet adapter (TRSA). A ServerNet addressable controller (SAC)
that
provides a single line from a Himalaya S-series server to a token-ring network, allowing
the server to act as a station on the ring. Speeds are switchable between 4 megabytes
(MB) and 16 MB, and the media can be either shielded twisted pair (STP) or unshielded
twisted pair (UTP).
token type. In Distributed Systems Management (DSM)
programmatic interfaces, the part of
a DSM token code
that identifies the data type and length of the token value. The token
type and the token number together form the token code.
token value. In Distributed Systems Management (DSM)
programmatic interfaces, the value
assigned to a DSM token.
Transaction Application Language (TAL). A high-level language used to write systems
software and transaction-oriented applications.
Transaction Delivery Process (TDP). A host process that delivers and receives host
transactions by handling message routing for workstation sessions.
TTE. See Outside View
.
unconditional token. A token
that is always present in a particular event message.
VERSION. A nonsensitive command
that displays the versions of IPXMGR, IPX PM,
IPXPROTO, the Subsystem Control Point (SCP), the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF),
and the Compaq NonStop Kernel operating system.
