Support Commands
This appendix describes the support commands ABEND, BUP^TRACE, CPUSWITCH,
and DEBUG. These commands are intended for use by support and development
personnel to facilitate testing and problem analysis. Since they cause severe interruption
of NBX operation, they should only be used when directed by support personnel.
ABEND
This command forces the NBX process to immediately terminate using the NonStop
ABEND procedure. All active sessions are immediately stopped. If a backup process is
running, it will take over. A saveabend ZZSAnnnn dump file will be created.
BUP^TRACE
BUP^TRACE requests that an NBX trace be started immediately upon backup takeover.
A backup process must be running, and a trace file must be open when this command is
used. Generally, this command is entered, then the primary process is stopped via:
STOP cpu,pin
or the CPUSWITCH command.
CPUSWITCH
CPUSWITCH stops the NBX primary process, allowing the backup process to take
over. Any active sessions are terminated.
DEBUG
NBX enters DEBUG mode at its home terminal, which may not be the same terminal
where NBXCOM was run from. Verify the home terminal by using the following
command:
TACL STATUS nbx-process-name
