This manual describes NonStop NET/MASTER Management Services (MS)
commands.
A NonStop NET/MASTER MS command is a word or abbreviation that describes an
action and tells NonStop NET/MASTER MS to perform that action. You use NonStop
NET/MASTER MS commands to control NonStop NET/MASTER MS, the Tandem
system on which NonStop NET/MASTER MS is running, and remote systems to
which NonStop NET/MASTER MS is linked.

Manual
This manual is intended for all users of NonStop NET/MASTER MS. This includes
system managers, network managers, operators, and programmers.
What You Need to
Know Before Using
This Manual
Although it would be helpful, you do not need to know anything about NonStop
NET/MASTER MS before using this manual.
Some NonStop NET/MASTER MS commands require a good knowledge of Tandem
computer systems. You should be familiar with the Event Management Service (EMS),
Distributed Systems Network Management (DSNM), the Tandem Advanced Control
Language (TACL), and a variety of Guardian utilities before using this manual.
How This Manual Is
Organized
This manual contains two sections, one appendix, a glossary, and an index. Here is an
overview of each section:
Section 1, “Introduction to NonStop NET/MASTER MS Commands,” contains
many helpful tables that summarize useful information about NonStop
NET/MASTER MS commands.
Section 2, “NonStop NET/MASTER MS Commands,” lists NonStop
NET/MASTER MS commands in alphabetic order with complete descriptions—
including some tips on using each command, its syntax, valid abbreviations, usage
considerations, and examples. The name of each command appears at the top of
every page for ease of reference.
Appendix A, “Default Authority Levels for Guardian Utility Commands,” lists
default authority levels for Guardian utility commands defined using User ID
Management Services (UMS) and distributed with NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
These are Guardian utilities you can execute from NonStop NET/MASTER MS
using either the OPSYS or PROGRUN command.
The glossary defines NonStop NET/MASTER and Tandem system terms and
abbreviations used in this manual.
The index provides an alphabetic access point to significant terms and topics
discussed in this manual.
