Format 2 Format 2 of the OPSYS command allows you to control subsystems in a network and
to start, interactively communicate with, and terminate Guardian utilities. If Format 1
is unavailable, you can use only Format 2 (if you have sufficient authority). Refer to
the User’s Guide to DSNM Commands for a complete description of DSNM utility and
subsystem commands.

dsnm-utility-command
specifies a DSNM command used to start and terminate an interactive session
with a Guardian utility. (The SEND keyword is optional only if Format 1 is
installed during NonStop NET/MASTER MS startup.) The SEND keyword in
Format 2 is the same as the SEND keyword in Format 1.
dsnm-subsystem-command
specifies a DSNM command used to control a subsystem in a network.
rest-of-command
specifies the rest of the command following a DSNM utility command or DSNM
subsystem command.
Considerations
The default authority level of the OPSYS command depends on whether your
installation permits the use of both Format 1 and Format 2, or Format 2 only.
If your installation permits the use of both Format 1 and Format 2, the default
authority level of both the OPSYS command and the SEND keyword using
Format 1 is 0. (The authority levels are set in the INIT NCL procedure.)
The authority level of each Guardian utility and utility command available
using Format 1 is defined using the Maintain Utility Command Set Definitions
option in UMS. When you follow the OPSYS command by a utility name and
utility command, your authority level is checked against both the authority
level of the individual Guardian utility and utility command to determine
whether you can access the utility.
