PARAM PROCESSCLASS
NonStop NET/MASTER MS Commands
2–234 115412 Tandem Computers Incorporated
If you include the PARAM PROCESSCLASS command in an application process
definition in the configuration file, the NonStop NET/MASTER MS control
process (NCP) uses the value of PARAM PROCESSCLASS to determine the class
of the application process.
If you omit the PARAM PROCESSCLASS command from an application process
definition in the configuration file, the NCP uses the file name specified by the
PARAM PROCESSOBJECT command to determine the class of the application
process, as follows:
If the file name has four or more characters, the third and fourth characters (if
BK, EM, IS, MS, or NC) determine the process class created from the file name:
a BK, EM, IS, MS, or NC process, respectively.
If the file name has less than four characters or if the third and fourth
characters are not BK, EM, IS, MS, or NC, the process class is NC.
The following table summarizes the relationship between the file name specified
by the PARAM PROCESSOBJECT command and the process class created from
the file name:
File Name Process Class
$volume.subvolume.xxBK BK
$volume.subvolume.xxEM EM
$volume.subvolume.xxIS IS
$volume.subvolume.xxMS MS
$volume.subvolume.xxNC NC
$volume.subvolume. NC
Note The first and second characters of the file name must be NM if you start NonStop NET/MASTER MS
application processes without a configuration file.
The following table summarizes the process types for which the PROCESSCLASS
operand is applicable:
