From within NonStop NET/MASTER MS you can enter NonStop NET/MASTER MS
commands in two ways: either from a command input line, usually the Operator
Control Services (OCS) command input line, or from a Network Control Language
(NCL) procedure.
You can enter every NonStop NET/MASTER MS command from the OCS command
input line, provided that you have the authority level to do so. The OCS command
input line prompt appears at the bottom of an OCS window. Without mode
indicators (A, M, and P), the prompt looks like this:
=>
With all mode indicators present, the prompt looks like this:
APM=>
After you type a NonStop NET/MASTER MS command at the prompt, you must
press the ENTER key (or the key that is functioning as the ENTER key) to execute it.
The command and the results of the command are displayed in the OCS message
display area. Messages continually roll past in the OCS message display area. You
can view messages that are no longer displayed on your screen by using the recall
buffer.
You can enter most NonStop NET/MASTER MS commands from an NCL procedure.
There are two NCL keywords available to enter a command from an NCL procedure:
the CMD core statement and the INTCMD verb. Command entry restrictions from
NCL procedures using these keywords are discussed and displayed in a table later in
this section.
Optionally, you can enter NonStop NET/MASTER MS commands from the command
line of the Distributed Systems Management Solutions (DSMS) NetStatus product. For
more information about using NetStatus, refer to the NetStatus User’s Guide.
Additionally, you can issue Distributed Systems Network Management (DSNM)
commands from within NonStop NET/MASTER MS to interact with Guardian
utilities such as FUP. For a detailed discussion of the functions available with DSNM
commands, refer to the User’s Guide to DSNM Commands.
