.
file-name
The default UMS file name is:
$
isv-vol
.ZNNMDATA.
p
UMSFILE
$
isv-vol
specifies the name of the volume on which NonStop NET/MASTER MS is
being installed.
p
specifies the process character (A through Z) specified when NonStop
NET/MASTER MS is initially executed.
Considerations
From UMS, you can add, browse through, copy, delete, list, and update user ID
definition records. Each record contains statistical information (such as name,
telephone number, and location) and control information (such as authority level
and the functions that a user is entitled to use). The key to the UMS database is
the user ID; user IDs in the UMS database must be unique.
When NonStop NET/MASTER MS is installed, the UMS database contains only
one user ID with a user ID of INSTALL and a password of 99999999. This user ID
allows you to log on to NonStop NET/MASTER MS for the first time.
Caution After logging on for the first time, you must immediately create another user ID with sufficient authority to
maintain the UMS database. If you do not, since the INSTALL user ID is deleted when you log off from
NonStop NET/MASTER MS, you will be unable to log on to NonStop NET/MASTER MS again and may
need to install NonStop NET/MASTER MS again.
Example
The following example specifies a file to be used by UMS:
PARAM UMSFILE=$DATA3.SUBVOL1.LUMSFILE
