PROFILE
NonStop NET/MASTER MS Commands
2–276 115412 Tandem Computers Incorporated
definition record authorizes you to receive monitor-class messages: this is defined
in the Monitor Status field in User ID Management Services (UMS).
Note If a user is not authorized to receive monitor-class messages, the PROFILE command does not display
information about the MONMSG operand.
An NCL process can attempt to check the monitor-class status of a user by using the INTCMD PROFILE
statement and waiting for message NNM0366. If the user is not authorized to receive monitor-class
messages, message NNM0366 does not arrive and the NCL process may be suspended indefinitely.
(You can work around this by using the SECCALL GET verb to obtain the actual monitor-class status of
the user.)
YES
instructs NonStop NET/MASTER MS to send you monitor-class messages,
provided you are authorized as a monitor-class user in your user ID
definition record. If you have this authority, MONMSG=YES is the default when
you enter OCS. The M mode indicator is placed in front of the OCS command
input line prompt (=>) to indicate this setting.
NO
instructs NonStop NET/MASTER MS not to send you monitor-class messages,
provided you are authorized as a monitor-class user in your user ID record. If
you do not have this authority and you specify this operand, NonStop
NET/MASTER MS ignores the command. The M mode indicator is removed
from the front of the OCS command input line prompt to indicate this setting.
MSG
specifies whether you can receive messages sent from other users by using the
MSG command.
YES
instructs NonStop NET/MASTER MS to send you messages sent from other
users using the MSG command.
NO
instructs NonStop NET/MASTER MS not to send you messages sent from
other users using the MSG command.
MSGALARM=
alarm-limit
specifies the number of times the terminal alarm rings when a message arrives at
an OCS window that is open but hidden from view. The default is 0, specifying
that the terminal alarm does not ring. You can specify a value from 0 through 9.
