See the SIGNON link-name command for information on specifying a password
when you explicitly log on to a remote system.
If you are sending commands through multiple intermediate remote systems to a
final destination remote system, you must have authority to log on to every
remote system. In addition, you must have the authority to send commands from
one intermediate remote system to the next intermediate remote system. You
must include multiple ROUTE commands as part of each command string when
sending commands through multiple intermediate systems.
Note The ROUTE command operates independently of the Expand networking product. You do not require a
Guardian user ID at intermediate remote systems when the INMC connections are linked using Expand.
The results of this command are prefixed by one of the following:
The MSG ID allocated to the remote system when the link was defined by the
LINK DEFINE command; this is the default.
The MSG ID specified as part of the SIGNON link-name command; this
overrides the default.
The results of this command are sent to the local system for display or for
processing by an NCL process. They are not displayed or available for processing
by an NCL process at the remote system. Results are returned to the user or NCL
process that issued the command at the local system as follows:
Results of commands sent from an OCS window are returned to the roll-delete
message display area of the OCS window from which you entered the
command.
