SHOW PROCESS
NonStop NET/MASTER MS Commands
2–380 115412 Tandem Computers Incorporated
SHOW PROCESS The SHOW PROCESS command displays information about Guardian processes
defined and started by NonStop NET/MASTER MS. When starting NonStop
NET/MASTER MS with no configuration file, NonStop NET/MASTER MS defines
processes automatically; you can explicitly define processes using PARAM commands
in the configuration file.
There are six types of processes that NonStop NET/MASTER MS can start:
Global memory manager (GMM) processes
Static processes
Dynamic processes
Security exit processes
Conversational interface processes (CIPs)
Distributed Systems Network Management (DSNM processes, which includes
command server processes
The SHOW PROCESS command can display information about process definitions
and each occurrence of a process. Entering the SHOW PROCESS command with no
operands displays information about your current process: this is a good method of
finding out the NonStop NET/MASTER MS process in which your current
environment resides.

Note Viewed from NonStop NET/MASTER MS, the six types of processes are all NonStop NET/MASTER MS
processes. The NonStop NET/MASTER MS control process (NCP) is the first NonStop NET/MASTER
MS process started (from the operating system) and is the process that starts all other NonStop
NET/MASTER MS processes. The SHOW PROCESS command does not display information about the
NCP.
Table 2-15 lists operands of the PARAM command whose values are displayed by the
SHOW PROCESS command. For each process, the SHOW PROCESS command
displays the logical name, process type, and attributes created.
