NET/MASTER Management Services (MS) Command Reference Manual
LBANNER
SIGNON link-name
NonStop NET/MASTER MS Commands
2–424 115412 Tandem Computers Incorporated
PAREN
specifies whether to enclose the message ID of a message from a link in
parentheses. This operand is valid only if the message text is prefixed by a
message prefix. The message text is prefixed by a message prefix if you specify
PREFIX=YES.
YES
specifies that the message ID is to be enclosed in parentheses.
NO
specifies that the message ID is not to be enclosed in parentheses.
PASSWORD=
password
specifies your password at the remote system. You must use this operand to
specify a password if your user ID definition record at the remote system has a
password that is different from your password at your local system. If you omit
this operand, NonStop NET/MASTER MS uses your local password (defined in
your local user ID definition record) to attempt to log on to the remote system:
NonStop NET/MASTER MS assumes that your local and remote passwords are
identical.
The password is sent to the remote system in encrypted form and is presented to
the security exit at the remote system for verification. It is not recorded in the
activity log of the remote system.
At your local system, if you explicitly specify a password, the password is
replaced by a single blank character when the SIGNON link-name command is
echoed to the OCS message display area, later displayed on your OCS window
(for example, using the HISTORY command), retrieved to your OCS command
input line (for example, using the CS-, CS+, or FC commands), or recorded in the
activity log.
PREFIX
specifies whether the message ID, specified in the ID operand of this command or
the MSGID operand of the LINK DEFINE command is prefixed to a message when
it is displayed on an OCS window.
YES
specifies that the message ID is to be prefixed to a message when it is
displayed on an OCS window.
NO
specifies that the message ID is not to be prefixed to a message when it is
displayed on an OCS window.
