NET/MASTER Management Services (MS) Command Reference Manual

Appendix A Default Authority Levels for
Guardian Utility Commands
115412 Tandem Computers Incorporated A–1
This appendix lists the default authority levels for Guardian utility commands defined
using User ID Management Services (UMS) and distributed with NonStop
NET/MASTER Management Services (MS).
The appendix lists the default authority levels for conversational Guardian utilities
(those you can execute using the OPSYS SEND command) and block-mode Guardian
utilities (those you can execute using the PROGRUN command).
Default OPSYS Utility
Authority Levels
For Guardian utilities you can execute using the OPSYS SEND command, the UMS
definition explicitly lists the default authority level for a Guardian utility command.
For example, the ABEND command of the Guardian APCCOM utility has a default
authority level of 3, the ACTIVATE command a default authority level of 3, and so on.
The definition for all utilities includes an entry for an asterisk (*) with an authority
level of 255. This effectively denies access to any command not explicitly listed; the
asterisk gives the authority level required to use any command not explicitly assigned
an authority level.
ACTIVATE Utility Table A-1 lists the default authority levels for commands used by the ACTIVATE
utility.
