Specifying System File and Subvolume Locations
Configuring NonStop NET/MASTER MS

Table 3-5. External Utility Security File PARAM Operands
PARAM
Operand Purpose Default Value
UACAUTH Specifies the location of the customized command
set definition database, which contains the
authority levels required to use utilities and
commands that you define to NonStop
NET/MASTER MS.
$isv-vol.ZNNMDATA.pUACAUTH
UACUTIL Specifies the location of the customized utility
definition database, which contains the
configuration information about external utilities
that you define to NonStop NET/MASTER MS;
the file also contains the list of user IDs
authorized to use UMS Utility Maintenance
Services, and the authority level required to use
the native PROGRUN syntax.
$isv-vol.ZNNMDATA.pUACUTIL
UADAUTH Specifies the location of the distributed command
set definition database, which contains the
Guardian utility definition authority levels
distributed by Tandem.
$isv-vol.ZNNMDATA.UADAUTH
UADUTIL Specifies the distributed utility definition database,
which contains the Guardian utility definitions
distributed by Tandem.
$isv-vol.ZNNMDATA.UADUTIL
Valid values are valid file names. If NonStop NET/MASTER MS cannot find the
customized command set definition database or the customized utility definition
database, it creates new ones.
For your convenience, Tandem provides you with the UADAUTH and UADUTIL
files. The two files obviate the need for you to add command definitions, which
include authority levels, and utility definitions, respectively, for most Tandem utilities,
such as PUP. These files are subject to revision in successive releases of NonStop
NET/MASTER MS.
Refer to the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Command Reference Manual for information
about the utilities for which definitions have been provided by Tandem.
Specifying the UMS
Database
If the location of the UMS database differs from the default location, the CONFIG file
must specify the database’s location. Use the UMSFILE operand to specify the location
of the UMS database that NonStop NET/MASTER MS uses.
Consider the example of a NonStop NET/MASTER MS system whose NCP name
begins with a character other than Z. Suppose that you want this NonStop
NET/MASTER MS system to share an UMS database with a system whose NCP name
begins with the process character Z and whose UMS database resides on $DATA. In
such a case, include the following command in the system’s CONFIG file:
PARAM UMSFILE=$DATA.ZNNMDATA.ZUMSFILE
