Adding and
Maintaining User ID
Definition Records
Everyone who logs on to NonStop NET/MASTER MS must use a valid user ID,
authenticated by a password associated with it. A valid user ID is one for which a
record exists in the UMS database. User ID definition records are added and
maintained by using UMS.
This subsection describes use of UMS. Specifically, it describes how to use UMS to
perform these tasks:
Entering UMS
Adding a user ID definition record
Modifying a user ID definition record
Deleting a user ID definition record
Viewing a user ID definition record
Viewing a list of user ID definition records
For additional information about the UMS database, see “Managing the UMS
Database,” later in this section. For an introduction to UMS and its commands, refer to
the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Operator’s Guide.
Entering UMS You enter UMS from the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Primary Menu. To enter UMS,
type M in the field next to the Select Option prompt, and press the ENTER key.
The User ID Management Services : Primary Menu panel, shown next, appears on
your screen. If you have UMS management privileges, the panel differs from the
primary menu shown to users without such privileges.
