OCS Access Field The value in the OCS Access field of the UMS : Access Authorities panel determines
whether the user can use OCS. Access to OCS enables users to perform these tasks:
Monitor event messages
Manage local system and network objects
You can configure aspects of the operator’s use of OCS by using the fields on the
UMS : OCS Details panel.
System Support Access
Field
The value in the System Support Access field of the UMS : Access Authorities panel
determines whether the user can use System Support Services. When activated, the
feature enables a user to use these features:
Activity Log Browse Facility, with which a user can examine the NonStop
NET/MASTER MS activity log
Command Entry Facility, from which a user can issue commands and view
responses
Display/Update SYSPARMS Settings, which enables users with a sufficient
command authority level to change SYSPARMS command operand settings
Although users can access the Activity Log Browse Facility and the Command Entry
Facility from the OCS window by running NCL procedures, the System Support
Services enable users who do not have OCS access to use the features.
Edit Services Access Field The value in the Edit Services Access field of the UMS : Access Authorities panel
determines whether the user can use Edit Services. NCL procedure developers use
Edit Services to write and check the syntax of NCL procedures and panel description
files. You can also use Edit Services to test NCL panels. You must allow NCL
developers to use Edit Services.
Console Extras Access
Field
The value in the Console Extras Access field of the UMS : Access Authorities panel
determines whether the user can use Console Extras to configure the block-mode
application programs that the user can run. See Section 7, “Configuring the Console
Extras Facility,” for more information about Console Extras.
Rule Management Services
Field
The value in the Rule Management Services Access field of the UMS : Access
Authorities panel determines whether the user can use Rule Management Services
(RMS) Refer to the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS Management and Operations Guide for
more about RMS.
Help Maintenance Access
Field
The value in the Help Maintenance Access field of the UMS : Access Authorities panel
determines whether the user can use the Help Maintenance facility to customize
command help information. See Section 13, “Customizing Command Help
Information,” for more information about the Help Maintenance facility.
