Introduction to Using
Utility Maintenance
Services Commands
The Utility Maintenance Services panels feature the standard User ID Management
Services (UMS) function keys, with some minor variations. Table 6-1 describes each
function key. The panels also support UMS panel navigation commands. Refer to the
NonStop NET/MASTER MS Operator’s Guide for an introduction to UMS.

F1 PF01 Display help text for the command, message, or field, depending on where
the cursor is positioned.
F2 PF02 Execute SPLIT command, which opens a new window.
F3 PF03 Issue the FILE command on all but list panels. The command submits the
information in the data entry fields to the appropriate database, then exits
from the current panel, returning you to the panel from which the utility add,
browse, delete, or update was invoked (UMS : Primary Menu panel or
UMS : Utility List panel).
Issue the EXIT command on the UMS : Utility List and UMS : Utility
Command Set List panels. Also issue the EXIT command on all other
panels being viewed in BROWSE mode. The EXIT command exits from the
current panel and returns the user to the panel from which the user invoked
the current panel.
F4 PF04 Issue the RETURN command, which exits from the current panel, returning
you to the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Primary Menu panel.
F7 PF07 Scroll back (available only on the last page of a multiple-page record).
F8 PF08 Scroll forward (available only on the first of a multiple-page record).
F9 PF09 Execute the SWAP command, which opens a new window or, if two
windows are already open, reverse their dimensions and activate the
window other than that which is presently active.
F12 PF12 Cancel the current operation (add, browse, or delete) and return to the
panel from which you invoked the current operation. If you cancel the
operation from a panel that you reached through “panel skipping,” the
function key cancels the current operation and returns you to the panel
designated by the last character in the panel navigation string.
The FILE command submits information in the data entry fields to the appropriate
database file. On the UMS : Utility Details panel, the FILE command rejects attempts
to enter information in fields that do not apply to the type of utility specified in the
definition. For example, if the OPSYS or PROGRUN field contains P and one of the
OPSYS-related fields contains data, NonStop NET/MASTER MS rejects the FILE
command and highlights the data in the OPSYS-related fields as errors.
