If you issue a scrolling command with action codes in the selection fields, NonStop
NET/MASTER MS issues the specified commands before executing the scroll
command. Alternatively, action codes are not executed when you issue the HELP,
SPLIT, EXIT, RETURN, or SWAP commands.
Copying and Altering a
Utility Definition
Record
You can quicken the process of adding several utility definition records by copying
and modifying an existing record. To copy and modify a utility definition record,
follow these instructions:
1. Move to the UMS : Utility Definition Maintenance Menu panel.
2. Type C in the Select Option field.
3. Move the cursor to the Utility name field and enter the name of the utility whose
record you want to copy.
4. Move the cursor to the OPSYS or PROGRUN field and enter the utility type:
If the utility is accessed by using the OPSYS command (conversational-mode
programs), enter O.
If the utility is accessed by using the PROGRUN command (block-mode or
conversational-mode programs), enter P.
5. Press the ENTER key.
The UMS : Utility Details panel appears, displaying the utility definition record of
the utility specified in Step 3.
6. Move the cursor to any fields you want to modify, and type the new information
over the old information.
You must alter the Utility Name field; all other fields are initially the same as that
of the copied record, and you need not alter them.
7. Press the F3 function key to issue the FILE command.
The FILE command submits the new utility definition record to the customized
utility definition database.
When the FILE command completes execution, NonStop NET/MASTER MS
returns you to the UMS : Utility Definition Maintenance panel and displays a
notification message on the third line of the panel. It also writes a message to the
activity log, noting that you added a utility definition record.
