Configuring Utilities
Accessed With the
OPSYS Command
The CIP parameters configure specific aspects of the external utility that the CIP starts.
When a user invokes an external utility by using the OPSYS command, the CIP starts a
session with the specified utility. Therefore, CIP parameter configuration applies only
to utilities configured for OPSYS access; the configuration is ignored when either the
TACL Macro? field contains Y or the Reads IN file? field contains N.
The default value for each field is empty. By default, the CIP determines the values for
each parameter.
The character string in the Startup Text field is sent as a startup parameter when the
utility is started. For example, for a Pathway application, you would enter the
PATHCOM commands that open the appropriate PATHMON process, execute the
desired program, and return to NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
Specify the startup text as a character string of up to 52 alphanumeric characters. The
underscore character is also allowed.
Configuring Utilities
Accessed With the
PROGRUN Command
You can specify a startup message and configure some execution attributes of external
utilities that a user starts with the PROGRUN command. Use the following optional
fields, which are located on Page 1 of the UMS : Utility Details panel:
Startup Text
The character string in the Startup Text field is sent as a startup parameter when
the utility is started. For example, for a Pathway application, you would enter the
PATHCOM commands that open the appropriate PATHMON process, execute the
desired program, and return to NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
Specify the startup text as a character string of up to 52 alphanumeric characters.
The underscore character is also allowed.
CPU
This is a number from 0 through 15, or the field can be left empty. If supplied, it
specifies the CPU in which the utility process should be created. If empty,
NonStop NET/MASTER MS chooses a CPU on its own.
Priority
This field specifies the execution priority of the utility. Specify the priority as an
integer from 1 through 199, or leave the field empty. If you omit a priority,
NonStop NET/MASTER MS chooses a priority value on its own.
Process name
This is a Tandem process name (without process qualifiers), or the field can be left
empty. If supplied, it specifies the process name that is given to the utility process
when it is run. If empty, NonStop NET/MASTER MS chooses a name on its own.
