Who Should Read This
Manual
This manual is intended for experienced managers of Tandem systems and networks,
specifically those who install, configure, and support NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
The manual is also intended for analysts and technicians who support system and
network administrators.
Readers should be familiar with Tandem systems and networks generally, with DSM,
and with DSNM, but not necessarily with either NonStop NET/MASTER MS or the
SOLVE management services. Readers who support heterogeneous networks must
understand the data communications and network management software on the
computers manufactured by vendors other than Tandem.
The audience does not include individuals who use NonStop NET/MASTER MS to
control and monitor network resources, such as disks, terminals, and communications
lines. Readers interested in a discussion of operations issues and tasks should read the
NonStop NET/MASTER MS Operator’s Guide, which is a prerequisite to this manual.
