This Manual
All sections of this manual presume familiarity with NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
Additionally, some discussions rely on your understanding other Tandem products.
There are general prerequisites for all readers and other prerequisites that apply only
to specific audiences.
All readers should know how to perform the following operations:
Enter commands from within NonStop NET/MASTER MS. Review the NonStop
NET/MASTER MS Operator’s Guide discussions of the Operator Control Services
(OCS) and the Activity Log Browsing Facility, at a minimum.
Use PS Text Edit (TEDIT), because you use TEDIT, accessed through Edit Services,
to create and modify NCL procedures.
Readers who will manage NonStop NET/MASTER MS use of EMS should know how
to control EMS component processes.
Readers who configure connections to remote nodes should understand the
procedures used to configure communications subsystems, such as Expand,
SNAX/XF, SNAX/CDF, and X25AM.
How This Manual Is
Organized
The NonStop NET/MASTER MS System Management Guide consists of the following

Section 1, “Introduction to Managing NonStop NET/MASTER MS,” establishes a
context for understanding how NonStop NET/MASTER MS relates to other
Tandem products. It also presents an overview of NonStop NET/MASTER MS
