Adding a Selection to
a Console Extras
Panel
Before a user can invoke an external utility from the Console Extras : Utility List panel,
the utility must have an associated Console Extras definition. To add a Console Extras
definition, move to the Console Extras Maintenance Menu panel and follow these
steps:
1. Type 1 or 2 in the Select Option field:
If you want to add the utility to the Console Extras : Utility List panel for a
specific user, type 1 in the Select Option field, and type the user ID that will
access the utility in the User field.
If you want to add the utility to the Console Extras : Utility List panel for all
users of the NonStop NET/MASTER MS system, type 2 in the Select Option
field. The selection will be available to users who do not have personal
Console Extras definitions configured for them.
2. Press the ENTER key.
The UMS : Console Extras Configuration Menu panel appears.
3. Type A in the Select Option field. The A option is used to add a utility.
4. Type the name of the utility in the Utility Name field.
The value you enter in the Utility Name field must match the value specified in the
associated record in the utility definition database.
5. Press the ENTER key.
The UMS : Console Extras Utility Details panel appears. The values in the
Configuration and Utility Name fields are carried over from the UMS : Console
Extras Configuration Menu panel.
6. If you want the Console Extras : Utility List panel to display a brief explanation of
the utility, type the explanation in the Description field.
The Description field can contain up to 52 displayable characters.
7. Type 6530, 3270, or BOTH in the Support Terminals field:
Type 6530 if the utility supports only Tandem 6530 terminals or workstations
that are running 6530 emulation software, such as PC6530.
Type 3270 if the utility supports only IBM 3270 terminals or workstations that
are running 3270 emulation software.
Type BOTH if the utility supports both Tandem 6530 and IBM 3270 terminals
and workstation emulation software.
You must enter a value in this field.
