NET/MASTER Management Services (MS) System Management Guide
SNA Connection Guidelines
Supporting Remote Operations
9–14 105744 Tandem Computers Incorporated
Each primary logical unit (PLU) must have a corresponding secondary logical unit
(SLU) on the other node of the session. All logical units on the same side of the same
line must be either PLUs or SLUs. When connecting a NonStop NET/MASTER MS
system to the SOLVE management services on an IBM computer, only one LU-LU
session can be active between the systems. In such environments, define only one
logical unit for the session, and designate it an SLU. The unit on the IBM side must be
designated a PLU.
SNAX/CDF Configuration
Guidelines
Table 9-2 provides guidelines for the configuration of SNAX/CDF OBJECTS that
support INMC links. The guidelines state required settings for APPL and CDRSC
objects. Refer to the SCF Reference Manual for SNAX/CDF for additional information
about the attributes.
Table 9-2. SNAX/CDF SCF and SYSGEN Configuration Guidelines
APPL Configuration Attributes
SCF Attribute Setting Guidelines
CHARACTERSET ASCII
CHARMAPNAME STANDARD
DLU CDRSC name of the VTAM management application on the remote IBM node.
ENCRYPTION NO
OPENNAME Specifies the operating system subdevice name for the SNAX/CDF process
that will be referenced by the supplied APPL object.
PROTOCOL SNALU
CDRSC Configuration Attributes
SCF Attribute Setting Guidelines
CDRM Cross Domain Resource Manager name of the remote IBM node.
SNA Session Definition
Guidelines
An SNA session definition indicates that subordinate unit definitions communicate
over a SNAX line. Table 9-3 provides guidelines for SNA session definitions.
