X.25 Session Definition
Guidelines
An X.25 session definition indicates that subordinate unit definitions communicate
over an X.25 line. Table 9-6 provides guidelines for X.25 session definitions.
Table 9-6. X.25 Session Definition Guidelines
SESSION DEFINE
Operand Definition Guidelines
session-name Specifies the name of the session, from 1 to 12 displayable characters;
alphabetic characters are shifted to uppercase.
LINK Specifies the name of the link to which the session belongs.
TYPE X25, to specify an X.25 link.
APPLID A text string of up to eight displayable characters.
COMMENT An optional text string of up to 50 displayable characters.
In X.25 session definitions, the APPLID operand specifies a character string that must
match the APPLID in the corresponding session definition of the remote NonStop
NET/MASTER MS system. APPLID has no intrinsic meaning to X.25 connections, but
you can use it to help protect your network against unauthorized attempts to start a
link with your system. The APPLID operand is optional for X.25 session definitions.
If you specify an APPLID on one end of a link, you must specify the same APPLID for
the associated session definition on the remote node.
