UNIT DEFINE
Operand Definition Guidelines
unit-name Specifies the name of the unit, from 1 to 12 displayable characters; alphabetic
characters are shifted to uppercase.
SESSION Specifies the name of the session to which the unit belongs.
DEVICE Names a file that NonStop NET/MASTER MS creates to provide information
about the process responsible for INMC processing.
MODE PRIMARY, to specify that the unit is one which attempts to read the file that
contains information about the process that performs INMC functions for the
other NonStop NET/MASTER MS system.
SECONDARY, to specify that the unit is one that attempts to write the file that
contains information about the the process that performs INMC functions for
the NonStop NET/MASTER MS system.
CONNECTDELAY Specifies, in seconds, the delay between attempts to create or read the file that
contains information about the remote IS process. Specify CONNECTDELAY
as an integer in the range 60-999. To avoid contention when the mailbox is
being written and read, specify a different connect delay for the primary and the
secondary unit. The default is 60 seconds.
COMMENT An optional text string of up to 50 characters.
Be sure to specify the node name of the file that contains the information about the
remote process.
Note The DEVICE operand must specify a different file name for each PTP connection. This file is deleted
after the connection is made.
Technically, the file need not reside on the node on which the secondary process is
executing.
