NMVT Message
Instrumentation
When an event is destined for an outbound flow over an ISR conversation to an IBM
node, if the flow enables CNM message travel, the event message is converted into an
NMVT SNA RU. The SNA RU is encapsulated in an SNA DELIVER RU as though it
was delivered from VTAM to either SOLVE:Connect or a remote SOLVE management
services system running on an IBM 370 or compatible computer. The mapping of
event messages varies according to the source of the event message.
SNAX/XF NMVT/RECFMS Translation
When a SNAX/XF type-91 event is received, the embedded NMVT/RECFMS SNA RU
(ZSX1_TKN_PIU - nine-byte transmission header) is extracted, encapsulated in a
DELIVER RU, and sent over the appropriate ISR link(s).
The NMVT RU is examined for the occurrence of a basic alert subvector x’91’ or a
generic alert subvector x’92’, and the appropriate hierarchy is created. If no hierarchy
exists, then the NonStop NET/MASTER MS hierarchy is created according to rules
described under “Hierarchy Resource/Name Construction,” later in this subsection.
SNAView (ZDNI) Translation
The mapping of subvector fields to ZDNI tokens appears in the DSM/SNAView
Manual.
Default Event Translation
Table 9-10 describes the generic alert vectors and subvectors used when the event is
neither a SNAX/XF event nor an SNAView (ZDNI) event. The generic alert NMVT
that is built is encapsulated in a DELIVER RU and forwarded to the appropriate ISR
link(s).
