The Format of a Command Help Edit File
Customizing Command Help Information

Platform Indicator. A platform indicator indicates whether you can execute the
command or command/operand combination on NonStop NET/MASTER MS, the
SOLVE management services, or both. In a standard-format help edit file, the
following characters appear after the authority level part:
One or more blanks
One period (.), which delimits the authority level information from the platform
indicator
One of the following platform indicators:
A plus sign (+), which indicates a NonStop NET/MASTER MS command
A minus sign (-), which indicates a SOLVE management services command
A blank, which indicates a NonStop NET/MASTER MS and SOLVE
management services command
The following example highlights the platform indicator in the summary help line for
the DEBUG MODIFY command after exporting the command help information from
the command help database:
SUMMARY .(0/1) .+ .Modifies the value of a variable
Brief Description. In a standard-format help edit file, the following characters appear
after the platform indicator part:
One or more blanks
One period (.), which delimits the the platform indicator from the brief description
A brief description of the command or command/operand combination
The following example highlights the brief description in the summary help line for
the DEBUG MODIFY command after exporting the command help information from
the command help database:
SUMMARY .(0/1) .+ .Modifies the value of a variable
Detailed Help Information
The detailed help information contains detailed information about the command. This
immediately follows the summary help line. Each line in the detailed help information
has two logical parts: a display character and the information that is displayed.
Display Characters. A display character determines how the following information is
displayed on the screen. Each line in the detailed help information that is to be
displayed on the screen begins with one of the following characters:
An asterisk (*), which indicates that the line is displayed without highlighting.
