The subsection “Setting System-Wide Terminal Security Attributes” has been updated.
It includes information on the TERMINAL LOCK command, which is used to lock a
terminal while the terminal is temporarily unattended.
The subsection “Setting a Logon Screen Title” has been updated. It includes
information on the position of the logon screen title.
The subsection “Setting a Logon Screen Banner” is new. It describes the LBANNER
command, which is used to set or erase a logon screen banner line. You can use this
command to create a customized logon screen banner.
The subsection “Preloading NCL Procedures” has been updated. It describes how to
preload commonly used distributed NCL procedures during the INIT NCL startup
phase by using the customized INIT NCL procedure.
The subsection “Managing NCL Queues” is new. It discusses the NCLQUEUE RESET,
NCLQUEUE SET, SHOW NCL, and SHOW NCLQUEUE commands, which are used
to manage and display information about NCL queues.
The subsection “Preloading Panel Description Files” has been updated. It describes
how to preload commonly used distributed panel description files during the INIT
NCL startup phase by using the customized INIT NCL procedure.
Section 6 Managing Access to External Utilities and Applications
The subsection “Using the OPSYS Command” has been retitled as “Using the OPSYS
Command to Communicate With Conversational-Mode Utilities.”
The subsection “Using the OPSYS Command to Execute DSNM Subsystem
Commands” is new. It discusses the SYSPARMS SWGUIDDSNM command, which
determines the Guardian user ID used to execute a DSNM subsystem command from
NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
The subsection “Configuring Utility Prompt Recognition” has a cross-reference to the
new appendix, Appendix E, “Regular Expressions.”
Section 7 Configuring the Console Extras Facility
No changes.
Section 8 Managing Event Messages
The subsection “Specifying the Consumer Distributor Program File” has been
updated. It notes that the program file name of the EMS distributor must now be
called EMSDIST, although you can still choose the name of the volume and
subvolume.
