Exporting Command
Help Information
Exporting command help information means transferring help information for a single
command or command/operand combination from the command help database to a
command help edit file.
The Export Procedure To export command help information, move to the Help Maintenance : Commands
panel and follow these steps:
1. Type E in the Select Option field.
2. Type a command or command/operand combination:
If you want to export information for a command, move to the Command field
and type the name of the command.
If you want to export information for a command/operand combination,
move to the Command field and type the name of a command, then move to
the Operand field and type the name of the operand that uniquely identifies
the command/operand combination.
3. If desired, move to the Culture field and type the culture of the command or
command/operand combination you want to export.
If you leave this field blank, the command or command/operand combination is
assigned the value of the Language Code field in your user ID definition record.
4. Move to the File field and specify the name of the command help edit file to which
to export the command help information.
You must specify the name of a new edit file; you cannot export information to an
existing edit file.
(You can also use the HLPMAINT command to export command help information.
Refer to the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Command Reference Manual for more
information about this command.)
The Export Operation The export operation exports information from the customized or distributed
command help database to the command help edit file, as follows:
If the command or command/operand combination does not exist in either
command help database, the export operation fails.
If the command or command/operand combination exists in the customized
command help database but not the distributed command help database, the help
information is exported from the customized command help database.
If the command or command/operand combination exists in the distributed
command help database but not the customized command help database, the help
information is exported from the distributed command help database.
If the command or command/operand combination exists in both the customized
and distributed command help databases, the help information is exported from
the customized command help database.
