Dynamic System Reconfiguration
After NonStop NET/MASTER MS startup, you can dynamically reconfigure the
settings of many system parameters by using the SYSPARMS command from the OCS
command input line or by using the Display/Update SYSPARMS Settings facility. For
example, you can:
Direct NonStop NET/MASTER MS to use a specific EMS consumer distributor
filter and dynamically switch from one distributor filter to another
Establish and terminate communications links with remote, peer nodes, including
IBM nodes, provided you have the underlying communications media available
Start and stop the flow of event messages to and from remote nodes
Change the kinds of user activity recorded in the activity log
Install, start, stop, and change NCL procedures that automatically perform
operations tasks
Install, start, stop, and change NCL procedures that manage event message
processing
Change the minimum command authority level required to use a feature
Change a user’s command authority level
Grant or deny user access to commands, Guardian utilities and applications, and
system features
Customize system-wide screens and menus
Dynamic reconfiguration of system parameters means that you do not have to shut
down and restart NonStop NET/MASTER MS to change system-wide settings. This
capability increases the availability of NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
