When you issue the SHUTDOWN command, new users are prevented from
logging on. The command informs logged on users that a shutdown operation is
beginning:
NNM0676 SHUTDOWN IN PROGRESS
A separate message, noting the initiation of a shutdown operation, is sent to the
OCS window of all users who are allowed to receive monitor-class messages:
NNM0560 SHUTDOWN IN PROGRESS
(You enabled the security administrator’s user ID to receive monitor-class
messages when you entered Y in the Monitor Status field of the UMS : OCS Details
panel.) The message is also sent to the activity log.
2. After the NNM0676 SHUTDOWN IN PROGRESS messages appears, press the F3
function key.
The F3 function key issues the EXIT command, which takes you to the NonStop
NET/MASTER MS : Primary Menu panel.
3. Type X in the Command field, and press the ENTER key.
When issued from the NonStop NET/MASTER MS : Primary Menu panel, the X
command logs you off NonStop NET/MASTER MS. NonStop NET/MASTER MS
cannot complete the shutdown operation until the last user logs off.
Canceling the Shutdown Operation. You (or another NonStop NET/MASTER MS user
with sufficient command authority) can cancel the shutdown operation before the last
user logs off from NonStop NET/MASTER MS. To cancel the shutdown operation,
issue the following command:
SHUTDOWN CANCEL
If you cancel the shutdown operation, each logged on user receives the following
message:
NNM0677 SHUTDOWN CANCELED
A separate message is sent to the OCS window of all monitor-class terminals and the
activity log, noting the cancelation of the shutdown operation:
NNM0562 SHUTDOWN CANCELED
Normal Shutdown of NonStop NET/MASTER MS From TACL
The syntax of the NNM program used to perform a normal shutdown operation from
TACL is shown here:

If you use the NNM program during NonStop NET/MASTER MS startup, execution
of the SHUTDOWN command is suspended until the INIT NCL procedure has
finished executing. Then the SHUTDOWN command is submitted to the background
